Middle and High School Educators!
Please join the National Cybersecurity Training and Education (NCyTE) Center for a brief, interactive virtual work session focused on the C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lessons. This opportunity is designed for middle school, high school, and homeschool educators. No prior cybersecurity experience is required.
To accommodate educator schedules across multiple time zones, two identical sessions are being offered. Participants only need to attend one session.
Morning Session
8:00 - 8:30 AM (Pacific Time)
9:00 - 9:30 AM (Mountain Time)
10:00 - 10:30 AM (Central Time)
11:00 - 11:30 AM (Eastern Time)
Afternoon Session
1:00 - 1:30 PM (Pacific Time)
2:00 - 2:30 PM (Mountain Time)
3:00 - 3:30 PM (Central Time)
4:00 - 4:30 PM (Eastern Time)
About the Session
Educators from all subject areas are encouraged to participate and provide feedback on cybersecurity lessons designed to support classroom instruction. Feedback will help improve lesson content, classroom relevance, accessibility, and student engagement.
This work session will focus specifically on materials aligned with AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP). Participant feedback will directly inform updates to the 13 C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lessons.
Session Agenda
During the 30-minute virtual session, participants will:
- Receive an overview of the C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lessons
- Learn about the lesson review process and feedback expectations
- Review participation requirements and timelines
- Receive instructions for completing the post-session assignment and qualifying for the participation stipend
Post-Session Requirement
Following the live session, each participant will be assigned one C5 lesson module to review. Participants will have one week to complete their review and submit structured feedback using the provided guidance. Completion of this assignment is required to qualify for the participation stipend.
$250 Participation Stipend Available
A $250 stipend is available for eligible educators who complete all participation requirements. Participants must:
- Currently teach at the middle school, high school, or homeschool level
- Attend and actively participate in the full virtual session
Complete one assigned C5 lesson review and submit feedback within one week of the session
- Be affiliated with an NCyTE Member institution (membership is free)
- Submit a completed W-9 form
- Complete ACH (Direct Deposit) paperwork
